Rich Aurilia touched them all and had 3 RBI at Trailer Park as the Columbus
Crowd beat the Santa Fe Trailer Bitches by the count of 9 to 7.
Columbus scored 6 runs in the 3rd inning with the help of 4 hits. The early
run support proved sufficient for Jose Contreras(3-5) and Columbus. That was
all the run support Contreras required. Santa Fe made it exciting in the
9th, but they were unable to push the needed runs across.
Chad Qualls was credited with his 6th save. David Purcey(1-3) took the loss.
He was knocked around by Columbus, allowing 9 hits and 4 walks in 2 innings.
When questioned about the loss, Dennis Martin said, 'The fans got to see an
exciting game out there this afternoon. Unfortunately, we couldn't get it
done this time. Next time, though, we'll be the clubhouse with all the
smiles.'
